A YOUNG York Union junior side were defeated 29-7 by Leeds at Sandburn Hall in their latest IDU match-up - but will have learned much from the experience.
Leeds, who included Yorkshire boys captain, and +1 handicapper, Dan Bradbury in their line up, enjoyed a clean sweep of the foursomes.
York, who were missing a number of key figures, had six players with handicaps of 11 or over but fought hard in the afternoon singles and enjoyed a number of promising results.
Malton & Norton's Josh Stead took Bradbury down the last, while Fulford's George Robson triumphed 1up over Barnsley's Ryan Heathcote.
Thomas Pyman, of The Oaks, grabbed a half from Cookridge Hall's Jeehvan Singh, while York's James Kay was too good for Moortown's Jack Kavanagh. He won 2&1.
Pike Hills' Alfie Atkinson won by the same scoreline when he overcame Low Laithes' Dominic Robson.
