Our juniors are learning how to win
Junior competitions come thick and fast at this time of year especially the Yorkshire Inter-District Matches. YUGC Junior squad have made significant improvements over recent years which is becoming evident in the years first few matches.
Our team captain Tom Kelly is setting a great example of leadership especially to the younger juniors in our squad. Having played 4 matches, we are proud to announce we have not only managed several game wins, but we have claimed 2 match victories against Leeds & Harrogate.
Another key note is the impressive nature of which our golfers play their games. An example of this is from Fulford's Elliott Williams who in his singles match against Reece Simmons of Moor Allerton was giving away 9 shots. The IDU matches are played of scratch resulting in Elliot appearing to have a significant disadvantage, however Elliott managed a 2 Up victory which had a huge impact on the overall match result. Well done Elliott 😊
The juniors next inter district match is against Bradford at The Oaks on 31st July. Come on lads, lets try and get a result against a tough Bradford squad.
