Simpson storms to 5 shot victory in Fulford Rose Bowl
It was a stunning win for Sonia Simpson of The Oaks Golf Club & Spa in the Ladies Fulford Rose bowl, shooting two over gross (74) for a net 68 to claim the Fulford Rose Bowl by 5 clear shots ! Awesome golf ! Three players shot net 73 with Philippa Ashley (York Golf Club) claiming 2nd place on countback from Jacqueline Roberts and then Emma Tipping (both Malton & Norton Golf Club). Chris Glendinning (also M&N) was 5th with an excellent 74 and Helen Barugh (Fulford Golf Club) completed the prizes.
£2 from every entrant goes towards a charity of the winners choosing - in this case the charity will be Leeds Hospital support with Cancer.
Sonia commented "On behalf of a close friends dad who supported Leeds Hospitals Charity for the cancer support they gave him over the years and pioneering research. They support people all over Yorkshire fighting their personal battles. He loves his golf and following The Oaks ladies in his later years made him very proud. Thank you every penny makes a difference".
York Union vice President John Mahan was once again in attendance showing great support through the day.
