Summer Events Cancelled

It is with much regret that the Officers of the York Union of Golf Clubs have with immediate effect cancelled all Summer Championships for 2020, including the Scratch League and Knockouts for Wilkinson Trophy and Pike Hills Cup.
We have been monitoring the advice from HM Government and the governing bodies, but it appears that the slow easing of the lockdown and continued social distancing protocols will impact the second half of the summer. It is also only right that our Affiliated Clubs and their Members have complete control over their tee allocations and can play as much as possible.

Yorkshire Inter District Union Matches
The Boy’s league season has been cancelled – the Team Championship is under review.
The YIDU Junior Club Team has also been cancelled by England Golf.
The Men’s league season has been cancelled – the Team Championship is under review.

Coronavirus Impact on the Winter Season
The Officers of the Union very much hope that by the start of October much of the current restrictions on play and socialising will give us the opportunity to continue with the events as planned. Obviously, with no Trophies to be awarded, there will be no Presentation Evening in November.
We wish you all the best for the Summer ahead supporting your home Clubs. Further updates will be communicated in due course and through the YU website and Facebook page.

York Union Competitions Secretary
